Horses are sociable animals, adept at non-verbal communication and body language. They can assist people to conquer fear and build self-confidence by offering an opportunity to ‘learn by doing and being’.
Horses mirror what human body language tells them, providing feedback about signals clients may not even know they are sending. Being sensitive to emotions, horses can respond to the unspoken feelings of the client. Relating to horses in this therapeutic setting can enable clients to enhance other relationships.
No riding is involved; all activities are carried out on the ground.
